On Sunday, March 1, we’re doing something special.

Instead of our regular service, we’ll be gathering for Serve Sunday — a morning dedicated to loving and serving our community together.

We’ll meet at Double Peak School at 10AM in the courtyard, where we’ll divide into teams and head out to serve. This is a day designed for everyone to be involved — all ages, all abilities. Whether you come ready to build, organize, assemble, walk, or simply help wherever needed, there is a place for you. And you will even get a free Hills t-shirt.

Serve Sunday is also a great opportunity to earn community service hours for work or school. And as always, we’d love for you to invite friends or family to join you.

Here are the ways we’ll be serving:

Green Oak Ranch (Vista)

A faith-based drug and alcohol recovery program. We’ll be working on landscaping projects and building a play structure. We’re especially hoping to recruit some strong men for the construction portion.

Interfaith Community Services (San Marcos)

We’ll be building shelves and clothing racks at their thrift store. This is light assembly work — think IKEA-style building.

New Movers Outreach

Teams will distribute information about our church along with a small gift to people who have recently moved into the neighborhood within a two-mile radius of our church.

We See You

A local organization creating pathways for people living on the streets to receive help and support. We’ll remain at Double Peak School to assemble hygiene kits. Anyone interested is welcome to join us later in the week at the We See You Dinner to help distribute them.

If you’d prefer to donate, you can participate by bringing items either this Sunday or on Serve Sunday.

Most-needed items:

Shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste, soap bars, lotion, razors, wipes, and toilet paper.

Double Peak School Clean-Up

We’ll be helping care for the campus by picking up trash and serving the school that generously hosts us every week.
