A Simple Way to Celebrate Advent as a Family

Advent begins Sunday, November 29. It's the four weeks when Christians slow down and get ready for Christmas. In a season that can feel like one long to-do list, Advent is a chance to keep Jesus at the center, together.

If you've never done Advent as a family, start small. Here's a simple 25-day guide that walks through the Christmas story one person at a time: Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, the Wise Men and more. Each day follows a simple rhythm:

  • Look Up: read a short passage and pray together.

  • Look In: talk about one question and do a quick activity.

  • Look Out: find a small way to serve a neighbor.

Each day you add an ornament to an "Advent Tree," so by Christmas your tree tells the whole story.
